What we've been up to!

Chris has been busy this past month – he hosted the Northern Evangelical Alliance conference with over 70 local church leaders at St Mark’s,

and also had a fantastic trip to Zambia with Josh where they visited the Christ Central churches in Southern and Central Africa, joining up with Jeremy Simpkins and Antony Tembo; ‘the first 2 days were spent with 15 leaders from Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, Zimbabwe & South Africa. It was also a real delight to welcome Luis and Joseph who we have been working with from Uganda! We worshipped, prayed & shared our stories’.

We had a special Powerhouse prayer time at the beginning of June where we joined online with House of God's Grace Church in Kropyvnystkyi, Ukraine, as well with King’s Church Cockermouth to connect and support each other in prayer.

Our recent Vision & Values course welcomed five more people with a chance to meet some of our leaders, ask questions, and consider taking the step of becoming a member of Gateway.

Amy and Hannah “graduated” from School of Leadership and the Youth raised over £500 at their Bake sale which is making a big difference to covering costs for NewDay. Hannah also took a group of 9 Youth to the SEND experience evening at North church where there were lots of testimonies of God working through mission in different settings.

Our Father’s Day Gathering was a special time and a big thankyou to John Davy for bringing such a precious and heartfelt message for all of us as a church family – listen back here… https://gateway.libsyn.com/150625-john-davy-1-corinthians-family-fathers

Bethan and Esther are finishing of their TLG early intervention coaching year at Quarry Mount where the head teacher has praised and thanked them for making such a difference in the children’s lives.

And finally it is fab to see all the plants now growing in the raised beds at St Mark’s – thank you to Natalie and Amy and all those at the Creative Tuesday pop up workshops getting involved in the sunny weather.

This is a place where we hope to share what we have been up to in Gateway, to let the whole church know of activities and aspects of church life including wider outreach and initiatives that you may not always get to witness or hear about. We want to encourage everyone with all the good and exciting projects we are part of and give space to look back, reflect on and thank God and others in our church community who serve in the local area, the city or further afield.

If you have something to share please email it in to sarah.woodger@gatewayleeds.net
