What we've been up to!
Our Student and 20s group recently joined up with Hope Church Harrogate 20s and 30s group for a social with some food and games fun.
Chris Frost attended the opening of North Church’s new building on Kirkstall Rd where there are some really encouraging stories of many people coming to faith. Chris also had his last governors’ meeting at Quarry Mt Primary school and handed this baton over to Josh Bissell who will be taking on this role from September.
We had a fab Powerhouse at the beginning of May with a special focus on our call as God’s people to share His love and His gospel with those who are broken, vulnerable and struggling with the weight of poverty. It was brilliant to hear from so many of our Gateway family who work and volunteer in this area through the NHS, social work, education and the charitable sector.
It has been great to welcome some new children and their families into community cafe over the last month where they have the space and freedom to play and also get involved in the pop-up creative workshops run by Natalie and Amy who last week were busy planting sunflower seeds for the raised beds.
This is a place where we hope to share what we have been up to in Gateway, to let the whole church know of activities and aspects of church life including wider outreach and initiatives that you may not always get to witness or hear about. We want to encourage everyone with all the good and exciting projects we are part of and give space to look back, reflect on and thank God and others in our church community who serve in the local area, the city or further afield.
If you have something to share please email it in to sarah.woodger@gatewayleeds.net
