What we've been up to!

It was great to see so many Gateway folk at the Devoted leaders Conference with many serving in the worship band. This year there was a rich and varied diet of speakers including our own Chris Frost.

Our Thank you for serving evening was a fantastic time to come together, eat good food and celebrate so many of our amazing volunteers at Gateway that bless the family in so many different ways – we gave out a few awards for those who had been nominated by others this included The Nelson Family, Mary and Terry Crump, Alex BD, Jonah Fernandes, Mark Fernandes, Anna Campbell and Mathilda Jerome.

The first fruits from the raised beds project have been harvested and Mary Crump made a lovely crumble with our rhubarb for everyone.

We’ve had some memorable Sunday’s over the past month including a special Thanks giving for children gathering where Andy and Laura, Eva and Michael, Joy and Mathilda and Hannah Conwell all publicly thanked God for the gift of their child. As well as our All age Sunday at the beginning of July where Amy and Naomi plus a number of actors gave a fabulous, well thought through and choreographed, visually engaging and humous all age message.

And lastly there are a few changes of team leaders and staff coming up; John will be handing over the leadership of the Welcome Team to Gary and Liz and we want to say and recognised all the amazing hard work and dedication he has given to that role and the passion he has to develop and encourage the team. Hugh Allon-Smith recently became a trustee of Gateway Church and Terry Crump became a trustee of Gateway Buildings Trust and we are very excited about Jess Douglass who will be joining the staff team very soon.

This is the final blog from me as I hand over comms to Jess – I have loved remembering, reflecting and sharing all the wide ranging aspects of church life and highlighting the amazing community and family we have at Gateway.

Lots of love,

Sarah x
