What we've been up to!

Taking a look back over the past few weeks the Sunday Gatherings together have been so encouraging with many of our speakers and teachers sharing the word of God with so much honesty and with many responded in prayer and ministry times. Gateway Kids have also seen many engaging with the topics and bible stories, a BIG thank you to our leaders who are so gifted and skilled in leading these sunday sessions with growing numbers each week.

We held a Try Church Sunday at the beginning of March where we welcomed Mark Richie as our guest speaker, Mark is uniquely gifted at communicating the message of Jesus in a relevant, humorous and clear way. On the morning 8 people responded to the gospel message! Including a student who is now being discipled.

The Grounds team have been continuing the path project, which is nearly complete, with a number of new people joining them. And the Ukraine Sunday evening prayer group has now been going for 4 years with such a faithful and committed group who are still meeting online with our Ukrainian friends.

The Alpha Holy Spirit day went well with 8 guests and a variety of people at different stages on their faith journey. Well done Hannah for leading so well. And Amplify was great with 74 young people from across different churches in our region attending this event; giving them space to have fun, build friendships, and meet with God. They had an action-packed evening full of games, worship, and a talk from Will Pattison of City Church Sheffield, there was a great atmosphere and many responded to the message.

And lastly the Night Shelter has now finished and we want to say a massive thankyou to all of you who volunteered throughout the week, either by cooking, cleaning, making beds or spending time with the guys. It was so good to be able to use our building again to serve some of the neediest in our city in such a practical way and a fantastic opportunity for us to work out our vision to share Jesus' love in our local community by giving a safe and warm space to sleep for people who would otherwise be on the streets.

This is a place where we hope to share what we have been up to in Gateway, to let the whole church know of activities and aspects of church life including wider outreach and initiatives that you may not always get to witness or hear about. We want to encourage everyone with all the good and exciting projects we are part of and give space to look back, reflect on and thank God and others in our church community who serve in the local area, the city or further afield.

If you have something to share please email it in to sarah.woodger@gatewayleeds.net
