What we've been up to!

We held our first 777 prayer week at the beginning of January, dedicating a week of prayer as a church with the aim to seek God together for his kingdom to come in Gateway and beyond. We Prayed for 7 days, at 7am and 7pm! It was a powerful reminder of the importance of praying together and there was lots of engagement and people taking part throughout the week in person and on zoom.

Alpha has had a good start with 6/7 non-Christian guests coming along to explore Christianity, with each week focusing on different questions around faith designed to create conversation. Please pray for them as they come with lots of questions.

In January St Mark’s hosted the memorial service of Rev Chris French, a pastor at Holborn Church in Woodhouse. His family were very grateful to Gateway for the use of the building and how accommodating the Gateway team were.

The grounds team were out in January, braving the cold and wet weather with more path laying, weeding, litter picking and cutting back and clearing the area in the south east corner.

We had a fab All Nations Sunday, it was such a vibrant, joyful and jam packed morning celebrating the amazing diversity that makes up Gateway and a BIG thank you to our guest speaker Raj Saha from Jubilee Church Teesside who turned to Isaiah 61 and spoke of the beauty of God's multicoloured church.

This is a place where we hope to share what we have been up to in Gateway, to let the whole church know of activities and aspects of church life including wider outreach and initiatives that you may not always get to witness or hear about. We want to encourage everyone with all the good and exciting projects we are part of and give space to look back, reflect on and thank God and others in our church community who serve in the local area, the city or further afield.

If you have something to share please email it in to sarah.woodger@gatewayleeds.net
